Safety Performance

To monitor safety performance, we measure both lead and lag indicators.

We conduct toolbox talks at every site, safety behavioural observations, broad brush risk assessments, and mini-risk assessments . These risk assessment tools provide critical OHS lead indicator information.

 

 

Lost Time Injury Frequency rate is calculated as the number of Lost Time Injuries per million hours worked.

 

We measure safety performance through a range of lead and lag indicators, including Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR} which includes data for employees and labour hire. We are developing additional OHS indicators to ensure our strategy is based both on historical risk indicators and emerging trends.

 

Predominately it is ‘low consequence high frequency’ incidents that contribute to our LTIFR results. We will continue to focus on actions that reduce these risks, in addition to  assessing and controlling risks with potential for ‘high consequence – low frequency’.
