Telephone Interview

If your application is successful, a member of our Graduate Recruitment team will contact you to conduct a telephone interview. If we like what we hear, we'll discuss your application & suitability with the Hiring Manager and progress you to the next step in the application process.

Manager Interviews

If your telephone interview shows us that you have what it takes to work for GrainCorp, you will be invited to a face to face interview where you will be asked some questions to help us get to know you, and talk about your previous work/study experience. These are behavioural style interviews, and we’re looking for candidates who really excel. We will be asking you to describe specific work-related situations, or tasks you’ve completed in your studies. We’re looking for you to describe the actions you took in each situation and the results of your actions. Take some time before the interview to think of a few examples you can draw on.

Competency assessment

Part of the process will involve psychometric assessments. These assessments help us to identify the right person for the job by providing a fair, standardised and independent measure of an individual’s competencies, abilities, personality and motivation. This information helps us to explore your potential in more depth and use this to determine your suitability for a particular role. Make sure you find a quiet space with a dependable internet connection.

Reference Checks and Medical Assessment

This is the final stage of our recruitment process. You will be asked to attend a medical and provide two referees who have supervised you directly and can tell us how you’ve performed in a work or university environment.

You get the job!

If your referees confirm that you are as great for the role as we think you are and your medical results are satisfactory, we will contact you with the exciting news and provide you with a formal job offer for a Graduate position. You will also receive a new starter pack which contains all of the information you need to know before starting at GrainCorp.
