Grain Fumigation
GrainCorp encourages the safe, responsible and legal use of farm chemicals, particularly grain fumigants such as Phosphine. Used correctly and in accordance with the label and MSDS directions, Phosphine is a safe and effective method of controlling pests of stored grain.
Incorrect use of Phosphine is not only illegal; it can be dangerous and may lead to insect resistance. As an industry, we can’t afford to mishandle or incorrectly use grain fumigants. GrainCorp introduced a new policy for the presence of Phosphine gas residues in grain delivered to GrainCorp sites on 30 March 2009.
