GrainCorp stores and handles wheat, barley, canola, sorghum and pulses produced in Queensland, NSW and Victoria through a network of 70 high capacity sites situated on branch and main rail lines and over 200 other receival sites operating on an as required basis.
On behalf of growers, buyers, domestic users and exporters, GrainCorp stores and handles over half of all grain grown in eastern Australia.
Approximately 500 employees permanently staff the GrainCorp country network, and up to 2,000 seasonal staff are employed to sample and unload grain deliveries from farms at harvest.
GrainCorp manages the operations of up to 24 trains with an annual haulage capacity of up to 6 million tonnes servicing our export elevators.
