Since our first mural at Brim in 2016, GrainCorp’s silo art program has grown into one of the most recognisable public art movements on Australia’s east coast – transforming everyday grain silos into striking cultural landmarks.
Created in close partnership with local communities and artists, each artwork reflects the people, landscapes and histories of its town.
Over the past decade, these large-scale murals have become powerful drivers of tourism, connection and economic activity across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, inspiring Australia’s largest outdoor gallery.
As we mark ten years of GrainCorp silo art in 2026, we’re celebrating the communities behind the murals, the artists who brought them to life, and the growing network of murals that now stretch far beyond our own silos.

Silo Art by the Numbers

Boosting business
In some communities, local business turnover has jumped 20 per cent within months of a mural’s completion.

It starts small
Some artworks start as a single A4-size drawing, scaled up to cover entire grain silos over 30-metres high.

That's a lot of paint
On average, each mural uses around 800 litres of paint to bring these towering works to life.
