Thirty grassroots organisations across regional Australia are set to share in $250,000 from the GrainCorp Community Foundation, backing projects that strengthen local communities.
The announcement lifts the Foundation’s 2025 grants support to $550,000 across 58 groups – underlining GrainCorp’s commitment to building stronger, more connected communities.
GrainCorp Community Engagement Manager Kyle Docherty says the program continues to go from strength to strength.
“Our program is about empowering rural and regional communities to thrive, and giving them the support they need to drive meaningful change.
“We’re proud to back the incredible work these groups do every day, often with limited resources, to make their towns stronger and more connected.”
From mental health initiatives and cultural preservation projects, to sporting club upgrades, the grants are helping volunteer-led organisations tackle the change that matters most to their communities.

Let’s Talk about mental health
Among this round’s recipients is Let’s Talk, a grassroots organisation working to break the stigma around mental health in rural and regional areas.
Founded on the principle that real change starts with conversation, Let’s Talk delivers tailored presentations with sporting clubs, small businesses and community group, creating safe spaces for open and honest conversations.
Kelly Marson, Let’s Talk Community Activation Leader, says the GrainCorp grant will help the organisation expand into more remote communities.
“This grant means we can continue reaching rural and isolated areas that we may not have been able to access otherwise,” she says.
“Our goal is to build suicide-safer communities, where people learn to look out for each other and recognise the signs that someone may be struggling by encouraging conversation and self-care,” Kelly adds.
“Unlike one-off events, Let’s Talk is about embedding these conversations into daily community life, so the support continues long after we leave.”

Soils for Life: Building resilience from the ground up
Another grant recipient, Soils for Life, is an independent non-profit supporting Australian grain growers to transition to sustainable, resilient and economically viable farming systems.
With GrainCorp’s support, the organisation will pilot its Cropping Communities for Resilience program in regional Victoria and southern NSW, bringing together 24 grain growers in small, peer-led learning groups throughout the growing season.
The aim? Strengthen soil health, tackle sustainability challenges and share knowledge and learnings through the growing season.
Eli Court, CEO of Soils for Life, says the program aims to help farmers strengthen their soil stewardship and build long-term resilience.
“This program brings together motivated grain growers to build their knowledge and skills, and by learning alongside each other, they’ll gain confidence in adopting more sustainable practices.”
The program aims to foster collaboration and spark community-led innovation in sustainable agriculture – closely aligning with GrainCorp’s long-term commitment to grower success and sustainability.
Eli adds: “Many of these groups are expected to continue beyond the project period, evolving into self-sustaining networks that amplify change across the sector.
