Commentary:

  • Winter harvest activity is winding down across Queensland after what’s been a smooth and efficient season for most growers. The remaining activity is concentrated in southern areas, particularly around the Goondiwindi region.
  • In northern NSW, strong delivery volumes have continued despite some rain interruptions. Sites around the Dubbo, Burren Junction and Moree regions have been going strong, with excellent quality received across all commodities.
  • In southern NSW, volumes are steadily building across the region as more favourable weather supports harvest progress. Canola and barley are the primary commodities coming in, while wheat receivals are starting to pick up across the northern and western parts of the region.
  • In Victoria, activity slowed last week due to wet conditions, but clearer weather over the weekend allowed growers to return to their paddocks. The main activity so far has been centred around the northern Mallee, Swan Hill and northeast regions, with barley the main commodity, followed by wheat and canola.
  • GrainCorp encourages growers to stay in regular contact with their local Site Managers for the latest updates on deliveries and segregations.
